coffee aroma The coffee bean has traveled a long way to become the beverage of enjoyment around the world. Coffee's origin is said to be found in the Ethiopian highlands of Africa. In the beginning, the Ethiopians discovered the energy derived from coffee beans when chewed. In time, coffee beans were transported to different regions of the Middle East, such as Egypt and Iraq. Coffee beans were even used for medicine purposes.
Then, in the middle of the 15th century, high-class people started roasting and brewing coffee as a beverage. The 15th century brough forth the modern beverage we know as coffee. There was a boom in coffee drinking throughout Europe and the siphon method from England in the 19th century.
